Shupihui: Iglesia e indigenismo en América Latina

Abstract

Shupihui: Revista Latinoamericana de Actualidad y Análisis apareció en 1976 como un boletín de la Coordinación Pastoral de la Selva (Perú), dirigido a los agentes pastorales con temas sobre actualidad religiosa latinoamericana. La revista se comprometió a ser una voz orientadora, esclarecedora y divulgadora en la amazonia peruana para los diversos temas existentes de actualidad y analisis de latinoamerica y el mundo. En octubre - diciembre de 1980, surgió la publicación de la revista Shupihui volumen 05, numero 16, bajo la dirección del Padre Joaquin Garcia, en esta ocasión, se destacan estudios y hallazgos realizados por hombres profundamente involucrados en el problema amazónico, en lugar de declaraciones, denuncias y documentos. No todos los estudios que se ofrecen abordan de alguna manera el complejo problema de la penetración, ni se presentan en su totalidad. Cada una de las firmas que acompañan los artículos no solo pertenecen a investigadores, sino también a personas que trabajan en el campo, organizan comunidades indígenas en pueblos campesinos y crean empresas autogestionarias. La revista tiene la intención de iluminar la creación de un movimiento de resistencia enérgico en defensa del suelo amazónico, así como ayudar a los líderes pastorales a tomar en serio un problema que, aunque humano, es evangélico.Shupihui: Latin American magazine of Actuality and Analysis appeared in 1976 as a bulletin of the Pastoral Coordination of the Jungle (Peru), directed to the pastoral agents with topics on Latin American religious actuality. The magazine was committed to be a guiding, enlightening and disseminating voice in the Peruvian Amazon for the various existing topics of current affairs and analysis of Latin America and the world. In October - December 1980, the publication of the magazine Shupihui volume 05, number 16, under the direction of Father Joaquin Garcia, was born. On this occasion, studies and findings made by men deeply involved in the Amazonian problem are highlighted, instead of declarations, denunciations and documents. Not all of the studies offered address in any way the complex problem of penetration, nor are they presented in their entirety. Each of the bylines accompanying the articles belong not only to researchers, but also to people who work in the field, organize indigenous communities into peasant villages, and create self-managed enterprises. The journal is intended to illuminate the creation of an energetic resistance movement in defense of Amazonian soil, as well as to help pastoral leaders take seriously a problem that, while human, is evangelical.
